Dez is Panamanian and very passionate about bringing awareness to her Afro Latin Caribbean culture and beautiful country :

She is also the founder of Afro Latina Travel, a platform dedicated to portraying Afro Latina women/ Afro Latinx that enjoys traveling.

In 2022 she organized her first retreat : Afro Latina Travel. The goal was too create awareness to the black community in Latin countries and educate others that are interested in the culture while having fun.

Afro Latinos are people of African descent with Latin American origins. It is important to point out the difference between race and ethnicity. Race is the physical characteristics of a person (for example the color of their skin) and ethnicity is the cultural identity of a person. These identities can include language, religion, nationality, ancestry, and customs.
